Where did the word Bible come from?

The \Word originally came from the name of the papyrus or byblos reed.  It was used extensively in antiquity for making scrolls and books.

The Greeks called the pithy part of the stem that was used for the paper - BIBLOS - and books made of papyrus were BIBLIA - from which we have our word BIBLE
